Royal Oak High School

Welcome Center

The new Welcome Center at Royal Oak High School will enhance security and improve visitor experience by moving the central offices to the front of the building. It will create a larger space for Shield staff to securely check in visitors and improve the visitor experience for after-school events.

Facade and Entry on West Side

Visitors looking for the athletic entrance on the west side of the building will have a clear point of entry with secured doors.

Baseball and Softball Fields

Major upgrades are coming to the baseball and softball fields, with brand-new turf fields, larger stands and dugouts, accessible sidewalks, and a central promenade between the two fields. Each field will also have a large outfield to support multi-use. The baseball field will also have a new marching band conductor tower for use on the turf field.

Royal Oak Middle School

Gathering Place

The Gathering Place, previously the Dondero High School pool, will be transformed into a light-filled Learning Commons, with acoustic paneling on the walls and ceiling, additional skylights, and a new frosted window featuring the ROMS Bulldog. The new Learning Commons will give students an inspiring place to learn and gather.

Churchill Community High School

The new Churchill Community High School will occupy a purpose-built space within the Royal Oak Education Center, with modern finishes and amenities for students and staff. The new space will elevate the daily experience for all students.
