Royal Oak High School Assistant Principal

For the last 12 years, the community and students in Royal Oak have been my best teachers. I am excited to continue to learn and grow in my role as assistant principal at Royal Oak High School.
It is an honor to have this opportunity to serve a school with wonderful students, an extremely committed staff, and a supportive school community. Dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty years, I graduated from Wayne State University and went on to earn my master’s degree in Special Education. My desire to become an administrator led me to continue my graduate studies at Eastern Michigan University, earning my K-12 Administration Certificate. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, I was a secondary special education teacher in Royal Oak working across a variety of grades and in many different facets. Before teaching in Royal Oak, I taught both general and special education at the secondary level in Detroit and East Detroit.
On a personal note, my wife Shawn and I have been married for 18 years and have three beautiful daughters. We love spending time along Lake Michigan in the summer and visiting with friends. I also enjoy playing drums, going to concerts, and reading.
I look forward to partnering with the Royal Oak community; together we will help each student have a successful school year!
