Oakland Named HeartSafe School

Oakland Elementary is now officially a MI HEARTSafe School.

Kudos to Jason Taylor for his diligence in completing this process. And thanks to Emily Kucinich for supporting this endeavor.

In 2021 Oakland applied for and received a grant to add additional Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs) from the Kimberly Ann Gillary Foundation. This year Oakland has put together a team, trained staff, and conducted a drill with Corewell Health to officially be certified as a Heart Safe School. Congrats!
